Black became a victim again in the United States which fueled the fire of protest among the African American people.
America came in the headline again. Again a black youth became a victim of police brutality. Memories of police brutality on George Floyd returned to Minneapolis. Jacob Blake, a black man in Kenosha, Wisconsin, was charged with seven counts of shooting at the ‘point-blank’ range from behind. The United States has become more vocal about the incident. Protesters took to the streets with the slogan ‘Black Lives Matter’.
The incident happened on Sunday. A video has gone viral, showing a young man wearing a sleeveless white vest and black hop pants walking towards his car. Two police officers are running from behind. Both have guns. An officer pulls the young man’s vest and says something. The young man is going to get in his car without special attention. Then came the sound of gunfire – seven in a row. The local people rushed to the spot when they heard the police firing. The mob started throwing bricks, stones and bottles at the police. The locals took Jacob to the hospital in a car. Jacob’s father said the boy had surgery. His physical condition is now stable.
The video of the incident has gone viral on social media since Sunday night. Seeing the brutal behaviour of the police on a black youth again, a storm of criticism has arisen. Police dispersed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck. The intense protest movement has started.
The accused police officers have reportedly been suspended. They claimed that they reached the spot after getting the news of trouble between the two families. But no proper answer was received from the police on why Jacob was shot.
According to one of Jacob’s neighbours, Jacob was going to the market with the children. At that time he started arguing with one of his neighbours. After receiving the news, the police rushed to the spot. Then they started firing at Jacob. He was shot in front of Jacob’s three children. The children were in trauma after they saw their father lying on the ground covered in blood.

George Floyd was strangled and strangled to death. The United States has been rocked by protests over police brutality against blacks. Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year-old African-American, also shot and killed by a police officer in Georgia. In continuation to those incidents, once again Jacob Blake was also shot by the police in the US. Automatically, the fire of protest is burning in the United States and as a result of that, a curfew has been imposed in Wisconsin from 8 pm local time on Monday.
Protests are going on by creating human chains. Today, on Tuesday morning, thousands of people joined the protest by burning tires and chanting slogans. Bricks and bottles were thrown at the police.
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers says the perpetrators will be given appropriate punishment. But he told protesters to keep the peace.
Black became a victim again and this will be marked as repeated incidence happened in the United States. After assurance from the US President Donald Trump that some control over the use of power should be implemented on the police forces in the US, a similar incident is happening again and again.
This will definitely reflect on the Trump administration and also on the coming Presidential election where the Democrat candidate Joe Biden will get extra mileage. Demonstration in the next presidential election would be much easier for Joe Biden with the help of Kamala Harris who is also a black woman. People of America are also very much annoyed with this kind of incidents occurring again and again.
