Lawyers of the United States have already raised objection to the TikTok app. The Donald Trump administration has banned the Chinese app for using by the government employees showing security reasons for the country. Google deleted more than 2,500 China-linked YouTube channels this time.

With a counteraction, India banned 59 Chinese apps, including TikTok on June 29, 2020. Among the Chinese apps banned in India were the very popular apps like TikTok, WeChat, ShareIt, UC Browser etc. It is learned that the central government has recently blocked several more apps of Chinese companies like Xiaomi and Baidu in India without any announcement.

In the wake of that move by India, China also came under double pressure from the United States. According to media sources, the popular Chinese app TikTok has been banned in India as well as in the US. In the first step, The Donald Trump administration announced that no government employee can use this app anymore.

At the same time, Google has deleted more than 2,500 channels with links to China from YouTube. However, Google did not say which channels were on the cancellation list. It is learned that the decision has been taken in the ongoing investigation process. The move by search engine Google will undoubtedly put pressure on various Chinese companies.

Google said in a quarterly bulletin that the channels that are deleted used to post spammy contents, non-political contents, contents that had a light-touch with politics. Those channels were also identified by the same activities by Twitter with a ‘disinformation operations’ along with the social media analytics company Graphika.

America wants the TikTok app to be sold to US company Microsoft. If that is not done, TikTok will be completely banned in the country. TikTok has time till September 15 to either sell or face the ban and it has been specified by the US administration.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has already said that not only the Chinese app but also various Chinese telecom companies may be banned in the country. All are accused of smuggling important information about US citizens and trade.
