Will my fertility be hampered? – This question has been haunting to the minds of so many people that they have been actually hesitating to receive the 2 shots of the COVID-19 vaccines. Currently, scientists have confirmed that male fertility will not be affected after receiving the 2 doses of the vaccines.

Scientists at the University of Miami in the United States studied whether the corona vaccine has any effect on male fertility. A total of 45 male volunteers participated in the study. The results of that study were released on Friday. It shows that volunteers have ‘healthy levels’ of sperm in their semen even after receiving the mRNA vaccine.

The report was published on the same day by the peer-reviewed Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA). It said 21 out of 45 men were vaccinated with the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine (BNT162b2). The remaining 24 were given the Moderna vaccine (mRNA-1273).

The report says that baseline sperm concentration and TMSC (Total Mobile Sperm Count) were 26 million/mL and 36 million respectively. After the second dose of the vaccines, the median sperm concentration remarkably increased to 30 million/mL and the median TMSC to 44 million respectively. Semen volume and sperm motility also increased. The scientists explain the increase as being within routine variation.

The scientists reported that people with COVID-19 infections were more likely to lose their fertility, in the month of November 2020. But, this is the first study to see if there is any link between the COVID-19 vaccine and male fertility.

According to the World Meter on Friday, 17 crores 82 lakh 67 thousand 584 people have been affected by corona so far, 38 lakh 59 thousand 419 people died, and 16 crores 27 lakh 72 thousand 905 people have recovered from the disease. The rate of infection in Corona’s second wave is decreasing throughout the world. Similarly, the situation is improving in India as well.

This research will give confidence to the people of the world. Because a lot of people have made up their minds to skip the vaccination process due to the fear of harm to male fertility. This latest scientific research has nullified the previous assumption of the scientists.
